Its more or less well made junk. If you have expectations, you will be very disappointed. If you just want a “santoku” knife to add to your collection, it may be just what you want.

I’m not a chef, or a person who cooks daily, so my mileage will vary on the usage of this knife. I can say that I have had it for around a month now, and I’ve hand washed the knife after each use and it hasn’t dulled or shown any signs of rust or discolor so it’s already better than any of the ones I’ve bought before!

I would give this knife 5 stars for balance, one piece design, ability to sharpen and classy design. The only thing I’ve found is that I cannot wash them in the dishwasher without some spotting. It rubs right off with a Scotch Brite pad, but I thought I would be able to simply put them in the dishwasher and not have to fuss with them. All in all, I do love this one the best because it has made chopping and dicing a breeze over Thanksgiving. I suppose for that alone, I can take the few minutes to wash this and my other knives I bought by hand and dry them before putting away. I did buy the chef’s knife. They are very different in their functions and how they feel in the hand. The chef’s knife is more of a carving knife, not so much for slicing and dicing.

Very attractive appearance. Not particularly sharp right out of the box, but sharpens beautifully, and once sharpened handles/cuts almost as well as a similar knife from a top of the line name brand that cost almost six times as much on sale. Considering the price a much better value, and one does not have to be especially protective of it because it is not a major investment. I do put mine into the dishwasher with no adverse effect noticed, so long as I give it a few swipes on the sharpener every few uses.
