I needed a bread knife and saw this one while purchasing another item. Seeing it was from Chicago Cutlery I decided to purchase it. It is quickly becoming my favorite knife. Great for bakery goods. Slices tomatoes with ease.

I bought this knife for my girlfriend for Christmas. I gave it to her early as we were getting ready for our annual Christmas party and she needed a better knife to use. She said it was a GREAT knife and it worked fantastic on freshly baked bread. A+

This knife is a good value (used to be an even better value). I use it mainly on bread and tomatoes, it works very well. Feels comfortable to grip and has stayed sharp for a couple of years now.

I like the long length, the lightness and the effective cutting from this knife. I use it on everything especially pineapples.

I bought one of these bread knives in May, 2008, from Amazon, for twelve ninety nine. For that price, it is a great bread knife. I bake my own bread, and the knife gets a lot of use. It was extremely sharp when I first got it and it remains extremely sharp to this day. (I sliced a finger pretty bad with it shortly after I first got it because I wasn't as careful as I should've been when slicing a loaf of bread, and that was partly because I didn't realize just how sharp - almost razor sharp - the knife was. Since then I always take extra care when handling and using it.) I must wonder why, today (June 20, 2010), it is selling for twenty three bucks on Amazon. Today, following a link from the Chicago Cutlery website that leads to the World Kitchen website, I see that this exact knife is listed with a selling price of fourteen ninety nine.

I love it and expect it should last a lifetime (I consider the polymer handle a plus in terms of both longevity and hygiene), I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good quality super sharp bread knife for non-commercial use, but Amazon's current price is way too high. Caveat emptor.

The knife itself is fantastic - great for pulling weeds, dividing perennials, planting annuals, bulbs, veggies, etc. It's a very thick piece of stainless steel and a nice grip. I don't expect any problems with it. Just don't lose the thing. It does have the hole in the handle so you can hang it up if you'd like. The sheath isn't all that great, it tends to swivel a bit when clipped to your belt or pants pocket. I'd definitely recommend this tool, a must for any gardener.

My OXO Garden Knife was advertised accurately and true. It is well designed and comfortable to work with in the garden. I like it's big, hefty, strong utility blade and the metal work. The sheath is just perfect to attach to my side.

It is well suited for self defense also in that reminds me of a Japanese Tanto design.

Very attractive appearance. Not particularly sharp right out of the box, but sharpens beautifully, and once sharpened handles/cuts almost as well as a similar knife from a top of the line name brand that cost almost six times as much on sale. Considering the price a much better value, and one does not have to be especially protective of it because it is not a major investment. I do put mine into the dishwasher with no adverse effect noticed, so long as I give it a few swipes on the sharpener every few uses.

I would give this knife 5 stars for balance, one piece design, ability to sharpen and classy design. The only thing I've found is that I cannot wash them in the dishwasher without some spotting. It rubs right off with a Scotch Brite pad, but I thought I would be able to simply put them in the dishwasher and not have to fuss with them. All in all, I do love this one the best because it has made chopping and dicing a breeze over Thanksgiving. I suppose for that alone, I can take the few minutes to wash this and my other knives I bought by hand and dry them before putting away. I did buy the chef's knife. They are very different in their functions and how they feel in the hand. The chef's knife is more of a carving knife, not so much for slicing and dicing.
